Carter Wrenn thinks Beverly Perdue just handed the election to Richard Moore.
In a post on Talking About Politics, the longtime Republican consultant says that backing off of an opponent's negative ads doesn't work.
The solution is to answer them. To show just how your dirty, rotten, mean opponent twisted the facts, distorted the truth and lied. Then — if he did lie — that dirty ad ought to backfire and hit him right between the eyes.
He says that voters are "pretty adept" at sifting through "distortions and smears" — especially if both sides keep debating.
"Richard Moore ought to take a break from the campaign trail tonight and take Mrs. Moore to dinner and celebrate," he writes.
