Will Republican Pat McCrory pledge not to raise taxes if he's elected governor? You would think it's a political no-brainer, but maybe not.
Last week, national Republicans and the McCrory campaign jumped on their opponent, Democrat Walter Dalton, for declining to pledge not to raise any taxes under any circumstances, writes Charlotte Observer editorial editor Taylor Batten.

Did he not cross his heart and hope to die? Was he crossing his fingers? Was Batten looking for a pinky swear? What more pledge do you need? He said he's for tax relief and against tax increases. Dalton is for tax increases and against tax relief. Sounds like that issue is pretty clear to me.

Both publications seem to be for condoning reckless & uncontrolled spending which will get our state even deeper in trouble. And you criticize someone when they believe in "tax relief and tax reform, not tax increases." You all are showing your true liberal colors, but what's new.
