Where the Dole ad was filmed

A recent Web video attacking U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole was filmed in Carrboro.

Dome would normally not take too much interest in the location, but a number of readers and politicos had asked about the country store featured in it.

We suspect they may have hoped to make hay if it had been filmed out of state or on some Los Angeles soundstage, but the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has undercut that line of attack.

As it turns out, the video was filmed at the Maple View Ice Cream Store.

Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly referred to the video as an ad. A TV ad also featuring two men in rocking chairs was filmed at the Bynum Country Store in Chatham County. The Carrboro video was filmed later, without permission of the ice cream store owners.
