What's in Perdue's targets

Where might Gov. Beverly Perdue cut?

A list of program cuts from budget officials released by the governor's office Wednesday shows a number of potential cuts across state government.

A drug treatment court program, a family treatment court program, the State Bureau of Investigation's Airwing unit, an outdoor camp for juvenile offenders, the state boxing commission and the state energy office could face cuts.

In addition, several programs could be eliminated.

Seven correctional centers, a drug treatment facility, a prison work crew program, expansion of a program for the developmentally disabled, an insect lab program, the "Lost Colony" drama and the South Port Maritime Museum.
