Under the Dome

What Walter Dalton won't say in this weekend's gubernatorial debate

UPDATE: The N.C. GOP removed this video at the request of Pat McCrory.

Ahead of the first debate in the governor's race, the N.C. Republican Party released a web video that subjects Democrat Walter Dalton to the lip-dub treatment. The only thing missing: a Carly Rae Jepsen song in the background.

Dalton will face off against Pat McCrory on Saturday in Wilmington in a debate sponsored by the N.C. Bar Association. Of all the things Dalton will say -- none of it will echo the video above.

you need to look up the definition...

... of "satire" (one T only). Not arguing that you thought it was funny, that's your call, just saying it's not satire. We need a new word for this kind of thing. It wasn't possible until recent technology made it possible, and it may be funny to some, but it can be dangerous because too many people believe it's real.

It was a sattire. I thought it was funny

You guys know it was a sattire like those BLR web videos. I'm a democrat and will be voting for Dalton but that was a pretty funny little spoof. I mean really.. Wool Socks? Can't get too upset with that.

"Since I would guess no responsible advertising medium would accept such a nasty, lying video for publication..."  I guess that's why it is in the N&O because no one has ever accused the News and Observer of being responsible and nasty and lying is their stock in trade.

Lip synch low blow. Fake words in somebody's mouth.

Since I would guess no responsible advertising medium would accept such a nasty, lying video for publication, the low-life, no morals Republicans apparently put it on the internet.

Shame on them!

It doesn't get any lower than this.

How many morons (like those who voted this legislature into office) will believe the outrageous lies here?  Far too many! State Republicans should apologize,or be held to account.

What's next?  We shudder to think!
