What did the House pass by crossover?

Here are some of the more interesting bills that made it past the upper chamber before the deadline to be considered by the Senate:

H.B. 9: Bans texting while driving. 

H.B. 88: Allows parents to choose comprehensive sex ed for their children.

H.B. 813: Allows people to collect money from negligence lawsuits even if they are somewhat at fault as well.

H.B. 961: Bans campaign contributions from officers of companies that have state contracts.

H.B. 1185: Allows habitual drunk drivers to get their licenses restored after 10 years with some conditions.

H.B. 836: Makes it a crime to tamper with an electronic monitoring device.

H.B. 1110: Prevents spouses from suing over affairs that happened after a separation.

 

H.B. 1289: Bans the sale of lottery tickets at check-cashing businesses.

H.B. 8: Bans cell phones in prison.

H.B. 827: Makes it a crime to leave a child unattended in a car.

H.B. 388: Lowers threshold for reporting campaign contributions in municipal races.

H.B. 1287: Requires state to recycle thermostats and light bulbs with mercury.

H.B. 1261: Makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor to bully a minor in a chatroom or post an altered image of a minor with the intent to embarass them.

H.B. 885: Prevent protesting outside a home in ways that cause fear or distress.

H.B. 856: Raises charter school cap to 106.

H.B. 223: Delay requirement for high-school seniors to complete special projects in order to graduate.

H.B. 593: Allow schools to start earlier in August.

H.B. 1447: Keeps the identity of Crime Stoppers informants private.

H.B. 1433: Grants limited immunity from people who use automatic defibrillators.

H.B. 1136: Adds a six-month waiting period for some state workers to become lobbyists.
