Is U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler gearing up for 2010?

The Waynesville Democrat told the Hendersonville Times-News that he hasn't ruled out running against Sen. Richard Burr in two years:

Shuler said he has not ruled out a run for Senate, but wants to focus now on Congress.

"First and foremost, I am going back to Washington and work on the economy," Shuler said. "At this point in time we need to focus on the economy."

The paper notes that the race would pit Shuler, a former star quarterback from the University of Tennessee, against Burr, who played defensive back at Wake Forest University.

It also notes that Shuler said he was approached about taking on Sen. Elizabeth Dole.

'It was my first term, and we decided against it," he told the paper.

We in the 11th district HOPE that Mr. Shuler learns to speak better with better grammar before he tries to run again. It must be embarrassing for a UT graduate to have to speak with such poor grammar

'I went to a gun show and 'COME HOME' with a 12 guage for my son' ...

I like Shuler and was delighted to see him beat that criminal, who had done pretty much nothing for his constituency in several terms, last time around.

However, I hope it's the Hendersonville reporter and not the good Representative who thinks that the "Senate" is something different from the "Congress." He may want to focus for now on the "House," but Congress contains both that and the Senate.

Maybe you should start paying attention to what your Congressman does. He is one of the best when it comes to constituent affairs and he is far from a rubber stamp for Pelosi, and Frank (Reid has nothing to do with the House).

So, instead of spouting talking points, learn about your Congressman.

Also, Run Heath Run.

This guy is the congressman for my district. I just want everyone to know he is nothing but a polictal puppet for the nancy peloise,harry reid,barney frank crowd up there. He has done absolutly nothing for the people of this district, all he does is try to further his polictal career. This guy is a joke!!!
