Elaine Marshall's campaign immediately took aim at Sen. Richard Burr's new ad with a creative news release made to look like a child’s bedtime story.
It was entitled “Senator Richard Burr’s ‘Main Street’: A Grim Fairy Tale.”
“Once upon a time, there lived a Senator named Richard Burr who spent 16 years in Washington,” the news release said. “Like many people who spend too much time in Washington, he lost his way.”
Marshall’s campaign then went on to dispute the notion of Burr being a down home North Carolinian, saying he is a large recipient of special interest money in Washington and that he voted to bail out Wall Street banks and to send North Carolina jobs overseas.

Pretty sad
August 31, 2010 - 9:29am — daddydaycareIt is pretty sad that the marshall campaign tried to fight back a positive Burr ad...whats going to happen when Burr actually starts to expose Marshall's opinions of how she wanted a bigger stimulus and public option in the healthcare bill.
Negative
August 31, 2010 - 7:21am — PeterWillHilarious because Senator Burr and his staff are known to be in NC whenever possible. Secondly, she should know that negative campaigns have done nothing since 2008. People are tired of partisan name calling and want politicians to actually do things rather than send out press releases attacking others.
North Carolina democrats

August 31, 2010 - 6:48am — BitterEXdemocratsheesh...doesnt she realize that democrats have RUINED NC yet??? doesnt she realize that we MUST hold on to ANY NON democrackkk we CAN to TRY and RECOVER from the decades of OPPRESSION CAUSED BY HER PEOPLE AGAINST our once great state??? SHE IS the epitome of the party of SLAVERY!
Marshall has got some nerve
August 30, 2010 - 7:02pm — policyhoundMarshall who had to go to Canada to raise money thinks Burr has lost his way. Earth to Elaine - NC is not located in Canada it's part of the United States. Poor Marshall had to win an out-of-state contest just to have some money in the bank - boy she's really got the support of the people of NC where she has been in political office for almost 30 years- talk about a career politician.
It would almost be funny if it weren't so sad.
Kinda funny...
August 30, 2010 - 5:36pm — SaintPinehurstTakes some stones for someone who has "gone Raleigh" - what is it, 30 years now? - to attack someone else for supposedly losing his way in Washington.
