State Sen. David Rouzer quickly fired back at Democrats after they launched a new ad seeking to tie him to Republican VP candidate Rep. Paul Ryan and his controversial budget plan.
Rouzer is challenging U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre, a Lumberton Democrat, for his seat in the 7th Congressional District. Rouzer’s staff accused Democrats with trying to distract voters with “lies and distortions.”
“Medicare as we know it has already ended - because Barack Obama and the Democrats chose to cut $700 Billion from Medicare to pay for their takeover of healthcare,” said Jessica Wood, Rouzer’s spokeswoman. “That they have the nerve to attack David for supporting the kind of plan that would restore the money they cut back to Medicare and protect and preserve the program is not only predictable - it's pathetic.”
In the ad released today by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the narrator accuses of Rouzer of working to "essentially end Medicare."
