Roberts wants to replace Wright

Frankie Roberts wants to replace Rep. Thomas Wright.

Roberts, who ran against Wright in 2004 and 2006, told WQHR that he would like to fill Wright's seat if the Wilmington Democrat is expelled.

Although he previously campaigned as a Republican, Roberts is now registered as a Democrat.

The decision to replace Wright will be made by a four-member committee from the Democratic Party in New Hanover and Pender counties.

In other words, it's a long shot for Roberts.
