Brad Salmon, Democratic candidate for North Carolina Senate District 12, picked up an endorsement from a Republican who is also seeking a seat in the state Senate.
Don Davis of Erwin is a former member of the state House who ran for the Republican nomination in District 12 this year, and he picked Salmon over his primary opponent, Ronald Rabin.
Salmon touts the endorsement as based on Rabin having a "sizeable portion of his contributions from a small number of special interest donors."
"Receiving the endorsement of a traditional conservative like Davis is indicative of the broad bipartisan support that our campaign has received," Salmon said.

What Senate seat is Davis seeking? He lost in the runoff primary to Rabin. It seems the author has confused Don Davis, the former Republican State Representative, with Don Davis, the current Democratic State Senator from District 5, who is running for reelection. Under the Dome needs to do an internet search before posting.
Bitter much?
October 31, 2012 - 12:14am — thediplomatdriverSounds like Don Davis is a little bitter towards this guy for beating him in the primary. Davis also endorsed a, not far right, nor far left, but just plain backstage Danny Glover for county commissioner. I tend to doubt his judgement in NC Senate picks as well.
