Rally set during Obama speech

Americans for Prosperity will hold a rally at the N.C. State Fairgrounds on Wednesday night ahead of President Barack Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress.

The rally will take place at 8 p.m. at the Kerr Scott building at the fairgrounds in Raleigh, reports Barb Barrett. Then, the group — which opposes Democrats' proposals on health reform — will watch Obama's 9 p.m. address live on a big overhead screen, said Dallas Woodhouse, state director of the N.C. chapter.

The rally will follow two more days of Americans for Prosperity's bus tour, which plans stops in the districts of Democratic U.S. Reps. Heath Shuler, Mike McIntyre, Larry Kissell and Bob Etheridge.

Re: Rally set during Obama speech

Don't forget to bring the torches and pitchforks! Maybe you could burn some "witches" while you're there!?
What a load of astro-turf Dick Armey based CRAP.
The "flat-earth" society is really having a ball shooting themselves in the foot this time. You Glenn Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly disciples are Mentally ill.
How much did Jesus charge for a co-pay on his miracles?

Re: Rally set during Obama speech

Where would they all be without Art Pope's money?

What about the children?

Oh, this is just too rich. Leading Conservatives in our state have some screwy priorities. Getting kids involved in a rolling political circus is okay:

Join Americans for Prosperity and the John Locke Foundation for a special open house as the Patients First “Express” gets ready to hit the road. Bring the kids and help make “Hands off My Health Care” Signs. Get the latest information on the health care battle!

But being addressed by the duly elected President of the United States is not appropriate for them:

N.C. Republican Party chairman Tom Fetzer sent out a press release late today calling on N.C. school systems to avoid President Barack Obama’s speech on education scheduled for noon Tuesday.

"This speech is clearly political in nature and has no place in the classroom," Fetzer said in a prepared statement. "Our focus should be improving our students’ test scores, not the President’s approval rating."

Their logic has gone from mildly fractured to surreal...

Re: Rally set during Obama speech

First of all Nat Turner is a historical figure and no one has the right to use the name of such. So your first ding is for stealing that identity. Second, I do not hear you making the same claims about MoveOn.org. So your second ding is your a hypocrite. It seems you need to educate yourself about Van Jones and the many other radical and extreme advisors Obama has appointed around him. Put the kool-aid down sir and educate yourself. Remember what happened to Germany in 1933 when they put blind faith and loyalty into one man.

Re: Rally set during Obama speech

These people could care less about prosperity or the misfortune of others. They are bigots who want Obama to fail. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is it opposites day???

Why would a group calling itself "Americans for Prosperity" be *against* legislation that will fight the leading cause of personal bankrupcies -- the current heath care industry?

Of course these are the same people who feel their right to boo superseedes other people's right to address their representatives, so we should not be surpried.

It is sad that they can "rally" now in Larry Kissell's district, but couldn't be bothered when it was represented by the king of anti-prosperity (except for his family), Robin Hayes.

North Carolina's motto is "To be, not to seem". Unforutnately, "Americans for Prosperity" are not.
