Try, try again

Under the Dome Quotes

This has been by far the most trying time I've ever had in my career.

State Rep. Bill Owens, an Elizabeth City Democrat, describing the recently completed legislative session.

More proof the Bill Owens thread has been shut down by CO

Sad, really.

But I heart Burr. Nooooooooo. I r 24 and sometimes post on Under the Dome as Citizen Opinionated, but now am MiddleManDle something and stalk Burr to detour political commentary. Pwease don't let the electorate win. I just got here!

Dome Poster (Sent Thursday, August 20, 2009 10:49 AM)

I'm as shocked as DOME readers.

Should DOME take a day off to shut down?

This is a truly shocking turn of events. I've just learned...

That that "middleManDlewhatever" guy is a troll with a crush on Burr. I know it's shocking, but here's proof.

By Citizen Opinionated from Under the Dome on 08/18 09:07 PM

I think BUrr is a poopyhead. He has healthcare! Why r he mean 2 me? I r loser and can’t sell lawnmowers.

Enough said. Who's on flag duty here?

Re: Yes or No Gigglebox?

Gosh, I'm so sorry for the delay Opinionated Citizen. Did I not get personal enough with you fast enough on our "first" date? Well, the (small l) libertarian in me wants to tell you to go blow your dime on whatever 24 year old recent grads from UNC do trolling classifieds on "local NC papers" while "noticing trends" and trying to teach others "how to deal" with "hired guns..."

But you and I both know you don't have the answer.

The fact is Stalker, in spite of the fact I won't let this comment stuff get personal, you have a life too (albeit a sad one)... and join, and join, and join again just to attack me.

Sooooo, to satisfy your obsession with me....

Take a Ritalin then understand that I have been commenting on countless blogs with topics ranging from nuclear physics to ancient civilizations to how much my Senator sucks since even before the latest one was one, and probably before you were born. (And that last part is just a guess based on your total lack of netiquette.)

POKE!

Re: Try, try again

This applies even if someone else starts it and even if someone else said something about you.

Thanks Ben, so the rule is conservatives attacking posters personally get a 26 hour head start and then it's immediately over when the people that won the election respond accordingly.

Just kidding.

No, I'm not.

Re: Try, try again

Everybody, all together now: Please refrain from personal attacks.

This applies even if someone else starts it and even if someone else said something about you. BN

Re: Forget it Owens

Career politicians breed corruption and lies. Vote them out or they and their cronies die in office.

Option one...you win
Option two...you lose

Forget it Owens

Bill Owens has shown voters he's cut from the same cloth as Jim Black. The E-City voters are just too blinded by his plantation rhetoric to know any better.

Yes or No Gigglebox?

Facts are facts...

Do you not attack Burr on local newspapers across North Carolina?

Simple question!

Yes or No?

Re: Try, try again

Clever response, but I am not Gigglebox or Gosh nor am I a political consultant!

You know what they say about people that makes ASSumptions!

It could be said that you operate with the same "arrogance" as Gosh.

Hope you two are very happy together!

Re: Try, try again

Considering you're on your 4th username in 3 months you might want to rethink your approach to political consulting.

Re: Try, try again

Clever rebuttal - just noticed some trends on other sites and I read other newspapers (especially the local ones) to learn about what is going on across the state for my job...

I have never responded to another comment nor participated in any other blog but this one...

But are you going to answer the question or not...

It was simple question - yes or no...

Don't let your arrogance get in the way...

Re: Try, try again

And you suspect this because...

You actually do follow Burr around to local newspapers across North Carolina?

Or does your sick infatuation begin and end with me?

Re: Try, try again

Re: Try, try again

I am pointing out that you have a sick infatuation with Burr...

By bringing both him and me up in a thread that has nothing to do with either. I see.

Re: Try, try again

I am pointing out that you have a sick infatuation with Burr and resort to arrogance towards anyone that counters your points, which ultimately takes away from the political debate that this blog was meant to spur...

I am trying to expose you for your true intentions and make sure that other readers understand how to deal with a professional hired gun...must be a very sweet job to play on blogs all day...

Ready to be a real American and talk about the issues...

Re: Try, try again

I am not sure if the campaign of Senator Burr is scared or not - I have no affiliation with them

You just awkwardly bring up Burr and myself in random threads more like a hobby then?

Re: Try, try again

Arrogance, according to Merriam-Webster, means an "attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions."

Example:

Then why aren't you laughing?

LOL is three letters. You posted 193 words to say as much.

Is the Burr campaign really that skeered?

I am not sure if the campaign of Senator Burr is scared or not - I have no affiliation with them, but thanks!

I hate to tell you, but there are Americans, not only political operatives, that are capable of understanding the world of politics...

I understand that since you are a paid blogger from the DSCC or DNC that you think you are one step ahead of the average Americans with your ability to paint a political argument...well hope that serves you well.

And yes I am laughing at your arrogance and that of the entire Democratic Party right now...

Let's review the hypocrisy on the left so far this year!

Pelosi in 2006 - Pelosi welcomed “disruptors” in 2006

Pelosi in 2009 - 'Un-American'attacks can't derail health care debate

Or what about the recent lying by Robert Gibbs concerning fishy@whitehouse.gov...

People are tired of the appearance of the thuggish Chicago-style politics and the belief that no one cares about their opinions...

The list goes on forever, which is why I guess the Democrat Party is forced to pay people in order to defend their mistakes!

And I thought Bush was bad!!!

Re: Sympathy for Burr

Laughable response!

Then why aren't you laughing?

LOL is three letters. You posted 193 words to say as much.

Sympathy for the Devil

Laughable response!

Considering in my daily reading of newspapers I see you or your alias Gosh on countless local newspaper's response sections attacking Senator Richard Burr with a more "disrespectful" manner that the right-wing mobs are using at the town hall meetings!

I do believe Burr voted against raises for Congressional members unlike your bosses!

Is it the DNC or DSCC or maybe the NCDP that signs you pay checks?

I am actually an independent thinker that thinks it is humorous that you resort to the childish antics of belittling those with whom you disagree...

Do you think you continual partisan attacks are beneficial for the political debate that America needs?

Why are you jealous of Senator Burr's success - his career from a lawnmower salesman to a U.S. Senator is commendable..you are merely embodying the left's desire to punish personal success!

Oh and the sympathy for poor ole Bill Owens...I am sure his meager legislative salary does not place him into a financial burden considering this is his current resume...

Re: Double Standard - Gigglebox????

None at all. I agree Owen sounds about as tired as you and the rest of Burr's campaign.

Owen's constituents should be advised and act accordingly. As a constituent of Richard Burr myself, I will do the same in regard to his re-election efforts. Thanks for bringing him up.

It's been a long time since the 1994 Gingrich revolution. I don't think the former lawnmower salesman Burr has another revolution in him, in spite of the fact he's been making about $150,000 a year more than any state representative doing a mostly volunteer job in public service for the past 15 years!

If those guys sacrificing salary to represent the state get tired, I understand. Burr got rich doing this though, and he and Brooke have better healthcare than you or I could ever dream of as a result, literally, thanks to Richard Burr. A guy that sold lawnmowers 15 years ago now has over $6 million according to his FEC disclosures. I so sorry Burr sweepy now, and tired of taking tax money to say government bad. What a joke.

Burr saying he doesn't enjoy making the most money he's ever made in his life anymore is telling, really. You should listen, especially as his campaign staff. Let the man go kill a bear already. It's either the bear or you guys.

Double Standard - Gigglebox????

According to Gigglebox - this means that Rep. Owen should step aside or face a imminent defeat!

Submitted by GiggleBox on August 6, 2009 - 6:12am.

I am not sticking up for Burr, but apparently this is newsworthy according to the News Observer!

DOME should be reporting what Burr said here, and you should probably be listening to him.

Burr said life in Washington isn’t easy right now. “When people ask me if I enjoy what I’m doing, now is the time that I try not to answer the question,” he said.

Burr has been in D.C. since 1994. Either he's trying to tell us something or his brain has finally betrayed him.

GiggleBox - do you agree and vow to help unseat Rep. Owens, since he too is tired!

Re: Try, try again

No doubt brought on by his own proclivities. Especially his effort to subvert democracy by defending the House Democrats use of the short/long title rule for bills; used so effectively in the annexation reform legislation.

In my opinion, he should be ashamed to consider himself an American when using these tactics to pass legislation.
