Quick Hits

* Former top lobbyist Don Beason has been spotted at Senate Finance Committee hearings, though he does not sign in to the guest sheet.

* U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, a Cherryville Republican, is playing a key role on GOP efforts to shape the 2010 Census policies.

* Spurred by N.C. Democratic Party, some 300 people call Sen. Richard Burr's office to complain about Rep. Virginia Foxx's remarks.

* Phones at Foxx's offices not being answered, calls "diverted to a general voice mail box, which was full and unable to record messages."

Re: Quick Hits

(And don't try sprinkling the grits. That's an urban legend started by the grit sellers.)

So true. Especially if you add cheese. That attracts an entirely different kind of gluttonous varmint.

Re: Quick Hits

Getting thrown off BlueNC is bad enough but what is worse is the fact you tried to post over there in the first place. You should have known better.

They're like fire ants. The only way to get them is to bait them. To do that simply post some normal stuff over here. It drives them crazy.....normalcy. They fear reason, John Hood and fried foods. Just sprinkle a little common sense here and watch them swarm.

(And don't try sprinkling the grits. That's an urban legend started by the grit sellers.)

Re: Quick Hits

Come on punks and bullies I am here. They may have kicked me off of BlueNC for disagreeing with their attacks on Republicans but I am here.

Great Paul! Er, welcome.

But don't climb down off that Cross on our account.

Re: Quick Hits

Quote from a previous post: I didn't hear your outrage when Sen. Robert Byrd used the phrase "white n****r" several times in an interview. Not the words that a former KKK grand dragon (or what ever they call themselves) should use.

Do you actually believe those on the far left to be fair and honest in their attacks on anyone who does not agree with their views?
Just look at the slime balls who are still attacking Miss California. Apparently it is not ok to believe in traditional marriage. Come on punks and bullies I am here. They may have kicked me off of BlueNC for disagreeing with their attacks on Republicans but I am here. Oh and how did Al Gore make $100 million off of his global warming scam? The left just proves day in and day our how corrupt it is.

Re: Quick Hits

The death threats her office receives are turned over to the Capitol Hill Police force to investigate not to local police authorities.

Whoops.

The Capitol Police are unaware of any death threats against the congresswoman. Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, tells the Sleuth there is "no ongoing investigation" of the matter, which means the police have received no information about death threats from Foxx's office.

I think the Good Congresswoman should produce these death threats to the proper authorities before spewing another word, don't you?

Re: Quick Hits

She has a relatively (compared to other congressmen) small staff and it would be impossible to answer every call as it comes in.

That's her choice as all get the same budget allocation for constituent services.

You can either spend it on Franked Mail for re-election or Constituent Services to help people.

I'm not surprised the Good Lady from Banner Elk that promised to not bring tax money home also didn't invest in staff for constituents.

Re: Quick Hits

The death threats her office receives are turned over to the Capitol Hill Police force to investigate not to local police authorities. And to the snide comment about her phone not being answered could it be because of the unusually large number of calls that are coming into her office? She has a relatively (compared to other congressmen) small staff and it would be impossible to answer every call as it comes in. As a result the voice mail box gets full quickly and it is almost impossible to clean out. Take a deep breathe folks. Calm down. She would not be the first politician to say something stupid. Her only sin as far a most of you are concerned is that she is a woman and a Republican. I didn't hear your outrage when Sen. Robert Byrd used the phrase "white n****r" several times in an interview. Not the words that a former KKK grand dragon (or what ever they call themselves) should use.

Re: Quick Hits

James you know you are probably right there have never been any extremist "commie hippies".....Without opening the history book, didn't "commie hippies" violently deny free speech in Chapel Hill just weeks ago? No left wingers would never take extreme measure, just those crazy gun-toting hillbillies.

Really? Death threats?

That doesn't ring true to me. Liberals and progressives are surely mad as heck at her, and are happy to ridicule her ignorance ... but death threats? That's not the normal path for pacifist commie hippies. I'd like some evidence, otherwise this feels like just more victimhood nonsense.

Re: Quick Hits

I bet Foxx has absolutely received death threats.

Re: Quick Hits

You would think she would report them....that is, you would think she would report them if they actually existed. If she hasn't reported anything to the police, I would bet money that she hasn't actually received any death threats.

Re: Quick Hits

Shouldn't Foxx be reporting all these alleged death threats to the police or something?
