* The Charlotte Observer's Jack Betts says U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan's panel to screen federal judicial candidates as a change from the past.

Re: Quick Hits - and CEOs' ranking of best states for business

In addition to the Top 5 states perferred by CEOS being non-union, there is also an interesting contrast between the states preferred by CEOs and the states with the highest quality of life for their citizens.

The Top 5 states for business have an average Quality of Life Ranking of 34th.

The Worst 5 states for business have an average Quality of Life Ranking of 9th.

Question arises: whom does the government and the economy consider a higher priority? Is it benefitting businesses or benefitting citizens?
