I am a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morganton, North Carolina, where I have served as an elder and a deacon.  I have also been involved in other Presbyterian Church-related activities at the Presbytery level.  At various times, I have served on a number of charitable boards, including the Boards of the Burke County United Way, the Presbyterian Learning Center, and Grace Hospital, Inc.
