Early Life and Education
Jennifer Weiss was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Somerville, N.J.
She graduated from Princeton Day School in Princeton, N.J., in 1977.
She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1981.
She earned a law degree from the University of Virginia in 1986.
Professional Career
She served as legal services coordinator at The Women's Center in Raleigh and practiced corporate law at a private firm in Boston.
She is currently a stay-at-home mother.
Political Career
In 1998, she was elected to the N.C. House of Representatives.

Name one way you would change government.
I would like to take the long view and do more planning in the state for education needs, health care needs, transportation needs and human service needs. I’d like to be more proactive about planning for the future to be more economically competitive and to make this state a better place to live.
