Name one way you would change government.
The Department of Transportation Board needs to be changed from political appointees to seats for professionals with expertise and representatives of counties and cities. So many times local visions for communities have been ignored by the DOT to the detriment of the area, such as the Alston Ave Durham project or the widening of I-40 in Orange County when the County Commissioners asked them not to. Conversely, local projects of Board members have been approved when other needs have gone unfunded.
