Synopsis | The son of a marine and a town clerk, Doug McCullough grew up on the coast of North Carolina when he says Salter Path was the end of the road. He attended UNC-Chapel Hill, studying history, and then followed in his dad's footsteps and joined the Marines in 1968. He was released and allowed to attend The University of South Carolina for his law degree and then returned to active duty in 1970. His military career included time as an organized crime prosecutor in Philadelphia, a counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee on Capitol Hill and eventually a federal prosecutor back in North Carolina. He retired from the Marines in 1998 as a Colonel and worked for a private law firm before being elected to the Court of Appeals in 2000. |
