Politicians flock to Cree jobs announcement

It's the political version of a straight flush.

The announcement of a $130 million expansion and new jobs at Cree Inc. in Durham will draw five major political figures this afternoon, reports Rob Christensen.

Among those scheduled to attend the announcement are Sens. Richard Burr and Kay Hagan, Gov. Bev Perdue and Congressmen Brad Miller and David Price as well as local officials.

Cree, which makes lighting, also was the site of a visit this spring by Vice President Joe Biden.

There will be 240 jobs announced.
