One of North Carolina's leading conservative organizations recently added a new communications director.
Jim Tynen, at right, will work on public and media outreach for John W. Pope Civitas Institute in Raleigh. Tynen, who grew up in Chicago, comes from the journalism world where he served as a student media adviser at the University of Pittsburgh, a copy editor and writer at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and most recently as editorial page editor for the Daily Herald in Provo, Utah.
He replaces Katie Trout, who left earlier this year to join a school choice advocacy group.
