Personnel file: Angie Harris, former Hunt aide, shifts lobbying shops

A former aide to Gov. Jim Hunt is joining Ward and Smith, a law firm that does lobbying work in Raleigh.

Angie D. Harris joined the firm after resigning from Williams Mullen last week. She will serve at Ward and Smith's new director of government and media relations. Her colleague Heather Barrett also made the switch.

Harris served as deputy chief of staff and press secretary for Hunt. As a registered lobbyist at Williams Mullen, she represented the N.C. Association of Realtors, Alcoa, Carillion Assisted Living and CSX, among others. Barrett is a Waynesville native who has worked with Harris on government relations matters for two years.
