Re: Meck Voters Agree

All I know is Duke Power has been very good to McCrory (big banks, too?). Who else stays on the payroll looooong after he's left? Could those kinds of relationships help him get reelected? McCrory doesn't run negative ads? I'm listening to one right now; the only difference is McCrory doesn't have the spine to admit he's behind those ads. McCrory should be careful about those corrupt friends of Perdue's he mentions in this latest NEGATIVE ad of his...didn't he praise his good golfing buddy and eye doctor on TV? Not very smart to use him against Perdue; I think he's Pat's friend, not Bev's.
Let's talk about the kind of "politician" who says Palin is hotter in person -eeewww! talk about garbage, Playboy Pat.
Would you want to debate a snarky, silly, ill-mannered person? McCrory laughs, scoffs, and talks out of turn (saying nothing) the entire "debate".

Re: Meck Voters Agree

If the Meck voters agree, how did he get reelected 7 times in a 3-1 Democratic city?

Re: Meck Voters Agree

Abosolutley FFC1304.

Anything to get Pat McCrory to move to Raleigh. Then all of North Carolina can share the burden of his taxpayer funded paycheck to be a lobbyist for Duke Energy.

I've done my share. Your turn.

looking forward to 'truth o' meter' on this ad

Is it true that Ms Perdue sponsored/supported legislation on landfills in NC during her tenure? Voters are eager to know!

Seems like Bev is going negative in all ads - in those against her opponent, in those against leaders in her party. If she really were serious about leading NC in a new positive direction, I think she would have shown up and told us all in state-wide broadcasts of her debates!

Re: Meck Voters Agree

Glad to have your vote for McCrory! He IS the best choice for NC, absolutely!

And dont forget to vote PITTENGER for Lt. Gov!

Re: Meck Voters Agree

Thanks for the "NOT!" Stay classy.

Not here to defend "Bev."

I just want "Pat" out of Charlotte. Governors don't do anything. Mayors have power.

Re: Meck Voters Agree

As was stated in this morning's N&O article on the Mayor:
- He has won 7 elections for Mayor in a city where Democrats and independents outnumber Republicans 3-1
- Former Democratic Mayor Harvey Gantt, a Democratic and Black leader in Charlotte states that "Pat has done a really good job. Anybody who has the ability to be elected as many times as he's been is obviously doing a good job, and people are comfortable with him."
- President of the Chamber says: "Pat has reflected Charlotte's generally moderate political culture. He has been an incredible spokesperson from an economic development perspective. He sells to corporate CEOs as well as Jim Hunt did."

Tell me if Beverly is recognized by Republicans or even Democrats across the State of North Carolina in this same way? NOT

Meck Voters Agree

Those of us that live in Charlotte will do ANYTHING to send Pat McCrory to Raleigh.

Heck, if he wanted to run for King of the Moon, just tell us where to give money.

Re: Bev Perdue's Picture

This TV ad about LANDFILLs in NC is particularly BOLD when you consider that, for example, the big LANDFILL that opened in ANSON County, NC a few years was brought there ENTIRELY by corrupt 'influential' democrats such as Rep. Pryor Gibson D-Anson/Union, Former State Senator Aaron Plyler, CPA JB Watson of Anson Co, millionaires Carroll Edwards (deceased) and Cliff Martin (deceased) who owned the land...THIS LANDFILL was NOT wanted and was fought by the citizens but they did not prevail and have to endure it BECAUSE of democrat domination!

Re: Bev does NOT get it

It's not about partisanship FFC, it's about leadership.

Re: Bev does NOT get it

My, my...the people are finally waking up to what 100+ years of democrat domination has done to our ONCE great state!

STRIVE to be SMARTER than a NC democrat!!!!

Bev Perdue's Picture

Is next to the word "Trash" in the dictionary.

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

I have been waiting for months to find out what Bev plans on doing as Gov. All I hear is what the other guy is going to do, what he does wrong, only negative attacks. Is this what Bev's plan is? To bash the other guy to get elected. Let's hear YOUR plans Bev, where are you?

Bev does NOT get it

Beverly, keep on not getting it. North Carolina's voters are scared & worried about their jobs, their pensions, wasteful spending by our state officials and the list goes on. And yet you are focused on spreading more fear whether its unfounded or not. Instead, Mayor McCrory is focused on helping solve our state's problems, many of which were caused by you and your power elite (now I get it: you are not capable of solving problems so you revert back to the only thing you are good at - being Negative Bev).

We have serious problems that will not be solved easily and you are obviously NOT the one that can lead that effort. Thanks for making everyone aware of that.

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

Here's hoping the N&O's Editorial Board follows the lead of the Greensboro News and Record, Winston Salem Journal, Charlotte Observer, Greenville Reflector and others across the state who have all endorsed McCrory.

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

there is no limit to what bev will do to win. She is the smear queen of north carolina, but I don't think the people of north carolina are buying it anymore. All the folks have to do is look and see what the queen has done for the good people of this state in her career. NOTHING !!!!!!

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

To be clear, I have nothing to do whatsoever with the endorsement process. That is handled by our editorial board, which is separate from the reporting side of the paper. Hope that helps.

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

uh, anybody live around where the dumps are being promoted? I can tell you that the political surge to inject massive landfills downeast is serious business and proponents are sure to garner a lot of money from the "waste industries".

For the uninitiated: landfills are garbage dumps and they are generally disgusting. So while everyone's pumping up jobs and industry with the implicit sense that it's all "Worth it", I would suggest "It isn't", not by a long shot.

Isn't McCrory also pumping-up offshore drilling? I'd also suggest that if he's not selling-out NC, he sure is acting like it.

Note: my personal take on Purdue is severly negative and I couldn't imagine voting for her, until I learn more about McCrory's plans. I'd rather just fight corruption in state government than fight corruption while my children gag on the stench of landfills (yes, I'm downeast and just a few miles from one of these planned job-making landfills).

In an area that's getting bled to death from farming stench (if you don't know what kind of industrial farming - you don't know Jack about NC) and illegal aliens, I wonder if a half dozen landfills is just the perscription for finally destroying everything east of 95. Maybe when it's all over Sen. Albertson can can get an award for promoting the decay, I do hope he sings a little song about it just to make it seem acceptable to people living far away.

What's McCrory's take on poultry poop incinerators? Sampson county's pushing to put one right on 40 at exit 355. C'mon, tell me exactly what McCrory's thinking is on spoon feeding poison to rural communities to satisfy other people's financial interests. Personally, I'm not for it.

Re: Perdue's 'Floating' ad on McCrory

Do you expect Ryan to write a article about Bev Perdue's negative smears? I hear that the N&O editors don't get out much. Read below.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR BY DAVID ROBINSON, WAKE GOP CHAIRMAN
The partisan preferences of The N&O are well known and expected. Endorsing seven Democrats and two Republicans for Wake County seats in the state House is par for the historical course. But I submit that any person who takes time from their personal life to run for public office is a patriot and is entitled to respect from journalists. In endorsing both Republicans you gave equal mention of the pros and cons of their Democratic challengers. Good journalism. In endorsing the seven Democrats you discussed only two challengers. Poor journalism.
There are additional patriots among us, and they merit consideration beyond "oh, and the challenger has a Web site." They are:

District 33: Paul Terrell III

District 34: J.H. Ross

District 35: Eric Weaver

District 39: Duane Cutlip

Oh, and with both parties clamoring for change, The N&O has chosen to endorse eight of nine incumbents. Your editorial staff should get out more.

David Robinson

Chairman, Wake GOP

Raleigh

Editor's note: The four Republican candidates cited above were named, and the address of their Web sites provided, in listings that accompanied the endorsement in each district race.

McCrory Focused on Jobs, Perdue focused on Trash

This ad is truly a description of how desperate negative Bev has become. While Pat is on the stump, visiting Eastern NC, talking about jobs and how to improve the economy, Bev Perdue is focused on a smear campaign, and garbage from NYC. He campaign can be summed up in one simple word: 'Pathetic'
