November 5, 2008 - 3:32pm — domewatcherReuters just broke this story from Russia:
Russians officials are trying to calm the Russian Caviar Market. Open market prices of caviar have skyrocketed since the news of Ms. Bev’s win in the North Carolina gubernatorial race. One Russian ministry official stated, “We had no idea Ms. Bev would win. We thought these trips were over once the auditor sounded the alarm bell……and now you have deactivated the auditor himself. That’s the way we do it here in the Motherland. Do not fear! We, the Russian Federation, are dedicated to supplying the North Carolina Museum Exhibit Hunting Entourages (NCMEHE) with quality luncheon caviar cocktails. We will be ready…..Za Vas!”
Local independent media outlets in St. Petersburg report long lines of shoppers trying to secure some caviar before the return of the North Carolina Culture Club. Some fighting broke out in the long lines and scattered looting has occurred throughout the city. Officials are trying to calm the mass hysteria by promising to limit the number of luncheon caviar cocktails North Carolina Museum Exhibit Hunting Entourages (NCMEHE) may consume at a single pre-ballet meal.
This run on Russian caviar has caused a worldwide scare. Most exchanges have halted the trading of caviar futures until the North Carolina Culture Club reveals the tentative travel arrangements, number of people attending, their weight, body mass and fat content.
World leaders are concerned that the $60.00 cheeseburger market may be the next to collapse. One cheeseburger official commented, “There will be no shortage of $60.00 cheeseburgers or Rocky is a pansy!”
Leading politicians around North Carolina have called for increased domestic production of caviar by stocking the Neuse River with more lake trout.

November 5, 2008 - 7:48am — occasionalpunditI am hopeful this morning for the first time in years. We worked hard, especially here in Mecklenburg County, to bring this day to pass. Bev, we are proud of you and look to you to guide us to a better day in North Carolina. We have much work to do. Know that you can always call on your Mecklenburg County keys to help you in whatever way. I volunteer to help with reforming the mental health system!
Really, Bev you worked hard, ran hard and showed your dedication to every corner of the state. How many thousands of North Carolina residents have you hugged in the past year? My guess is 500,000 at the very least. Congratulations to the whole team who made this happen. Here's to a great new day--just in the nick of time.
