Hours after Treasurer Richard Moore unveiled an ad questioning Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue's record on civil rights, the Perdue campaign launched a radio ad to respond.
The one-minute ad features former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt, who endorsed Perdue this week. Gantt touts Perdue's record on the fight for civil rights.
"Bev Perdue has always stood up for us. We should all be put off by Richard Moore's outrageous negative attacks," Gantt says.
The ad went up Thursday afternoon. A Perdue spokesman declined to discuss which stations would carry the ad.
