Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

Beverly Perdue's latest radio ad criticizes Pat McCrory on rural issues.

The minute-long ad features two "country boys" named Bill and Henry talking about illegal immigration, transportation funding and a landfills bill.

"I'm surprised he even thinks us folks out in the country can read," says Bill.

"Or have indoor plumbing," adds Henry.

Echoing recent arguments from the Perdue campaign, the ad asserts that McCrory wants to take money away from rural highways and stop paving roads in small towns and allow New York and New Jersey to dump trash in North Carolina.

It also says that he used illegal immigrants on city projects.

As previously noted, McCrory opposed a bill that would have restricted new landfills because of a related tax increase and questioned the state's road funding formula.

After the jump, the script.

—————

BILL: Hey Henry.

HENRY: Hey Bill.

BILL: What you doing?

HENRY: Oh, reading my mail. Got another brochure from that mayor of Charlotte, Pat McCrory.

BILL: Oh, I got that too. I'm surprised he even thinks us folks out in the country can read.

HENRY: Or have indoor plumbing.

BILL: McCrory sure has been insulting us.

HENRY: I know. I read in the paper that he said Charlotte's getting ripped off. And he'd take money away from rural highways.

BILL: Oh you're kidding.

HENRY: Why Bill he even questioned where we should even pave roads in small towns and rural areas.

BILL: And you know, McCrory's the guy who wants to let New Jersey and New York ship their garbage down here to North Carolina.

HENRY: Pee-yew! Of course, now he's trying to change the subject to look tough on immigration.

BILL: Yeah, but I saw where McCrory admitted he paid illegal immigrants to work on city projects in Charlotte.

HENRY: Well, I guess McCrory's found two country boys who can't get fooled.

BILL: Henry, McCrory's going to find out on Election Day who the fool is.

PERDUE: This is Bev Perdue candidate for governor, and I sponsored this ad. Paid for by Bev Perdue Committee.

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

I think its even more impressive that every major organization, including several mayors and members of the Charlotte City Council, endore Bev Perdue. Now, this speaks mega-volumes. When all of the state associations unite behind Perdue, the choice is definitive: Perdue, Governor of North Carolina

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

I think the fact that every major newspaper in this state has endorsed McCrory speaks volumes. When the liberal and conservative media for the first time in decades unite behind one candidate, the choice is pretty clear.

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

Yes, indeed, I believe what I write. I have given a lot of time and effort here b/c I know McCrory would be a tragedy for our state. I firmly believe a microscopic look would reveal McCrory for the inexperienced, ineffective, whiny, morally bankrupt man he really is. Sorry to disagree, but I know what I know!!!

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

Picking Perdue your blogging is great entertainment. With all due respect, do you really believe all the stuff you write??? If perdue loses it want be your fault because you have given 1000%. However I think most people who read this blog have aready voted for McCrory, if not I wish they would look through the mud slinging and give McCrory a good vetting. Then look a bevs record and her tactics. I think McCrory will win their vote

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

If you are truly sick of negative ads.,please be sure to turn off your TV when McCrory comes on your screen. Granted, he pretends to only sponsor the positive ads, but we North Carolinians aren't that gullible. At least Perdue has the moral fortitude to stand behind her ads. Poor, whiny Pat has to let RGA do his dirty work.

Re: Perdue radio ad criticizes McCrory

That is all she has for North Carolina. She has nothing to bring to the table or offer as her agenda. All she has are negative attack ads, and I for one think the good folks of North Carolina are sick and tired of it. On Nov 4th the people of this great state will speak in a loud and clear voice, and I hope that their voice will finally bring "CHANGE" to Raleigh.
