Perdue presses for stimulus in Va.

Gov. Beverly Perdue is making her case for the stimulus.

Perdue flew to Williamsburg, Va., this morning on a state plane to participate in a panel of governors urging Congress to pass an economic stimulus package.

She has said that spending on infrastructure and other economic development projects will help reduce North Carolina's high unemployment rate.

Also attending are New York Gov. David Paterson, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter, along with members of the U.S. House Democratic caucus.

The meeting at the Kingsmill Resort is closed to the press, although Perdue and others will speak afterward.

Congress retreat. Guess all politicians are clueless as to how bad it looks while slapping the financial worlds hand and then going off on your own retreat at resorts.

How about Barbara Mandrell instead? Or, Dolly Parton who defended her crook brother Randy!

She should be ashamed to go begging the taxpayers for money, when her party has kept NC in slavery for decades!

Getting money from the feds for Medicaid to balance the budget is well within what a chief executive in NC is charged with doing. Yeah, that balancing the budget constitutional thingie.

So sorry you're sad that a woman is doing the job she was elected to, but McCrory lost.

No way Bev would be stoopid enough to take a private jet to go beg for scraps from the DC pigs, right? I mean, the press would have a field day, right? Remember how the press had a field day on the Big3 execs for doing the same thing? Nope, No hypocrisy here!

I wonder if there was champagne and caviar on board? Of course she deserves it. Because... she uhhhh... did..... the state is doing so well.... there's a surplus and we need a way to squander it?

OK, anyone who doesn't get it: it costs more to just to taxi this pig out to the runway than it would to fly round trip on a commercial flight. Way to save, Bev!
