Perdue 43, McCrory 39, Munger 4

Mike Munger may also be a spoiler.

According to a recent survey by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, the Libertarian gubernatorial candidate may be pulling votes from Republican nominee Pat McCrory

In an automated poll on May 28-29, Democratic nominee Beverly Perdue got 43 percent, McCrory 39 percent and Munger 4 percent.

Munger drew 15 percent of voters who did not identify as either Republicans or Democrats, and McCrory was essentially tied with Perdue in a previous poll without Munger, who recently qualified for the ballot.

The poll also showed Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr hurting Republican nominee John McCain in North Carolina.

The survey of 543 likely voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.

He may be a spoiler, but we need him on the ticket for more choice!

McCrory is democrackkk lite...he needs to grow some backbone if he wants THIS vote...Pittenger is the MAN for Lt gov.

No offense intended, but that is the technical definition of a spoiler.

Re: Perdue 43, McCrory 39, Munger 4

*Munger* might be a spoiler?

After having to pay, in effect, a $150,000 filing fee, and being denied the opportunity to have the free publicity that results from a primary race? After spending hundreds of hours of volunteer time doing no organizing, no issue work, but simply getting signatures?

The point of our state's notorious ballot access laws are to prevent the people from having real choices. Even if a party manages to get on the ballot, we are consigned to exhausted "spoiler" status. The law ensures that we arrive breathless at the starting line, having dissipated all the resources that would have made it possible to run a real race.

So, with all due respect, sir, the "spoiler" is North Carolina's ballot access law, one of the worst in the nation. If I can get somebody's attention by staggering across the finish line AT ALL, then it may very well be worth it.
