People who say that Rev. Wright SERMON has ANYTHING to do with this election are just "searching for straws". Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with the $4.00 per gallon I'm paying at the pump. Rev. Wright's sermon has NOTHING to do with 10's of thousands of people each month losing their homes. Rev. Wright's sermon has NOTHING to do with America being over $9 TRILLION in debt for the first time in history. Rev. Wright's sermon has NOTHING to do with how this government treated its fellow Americans after Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with food prices going up by 45-65% over the past year. Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with our FAILING school systems or our inadequate "criminal justice" system. Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with America being bogged down in a NEVER ENDING war costing us almost $2 TRILLION over the past 5-6 years and stretching our military to the brink of disaster. Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with the dollar being devalued so much that some American stores will only take "Euro Dollars".
Rev. Wright's sermon had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING that should matter to the American people IF they truly want to CHANGE COURSES over the next 4-8 years.
We got into this perdicament because a large segment of the American population was NOT paying attention to "what matters"; but was instead focusing on an idiot who "waved the flag"; "mentioned the Bible"; and did "photo opts" at every opportunity. NOW, we stand a chance of repeating the same old tired cycle. We KNOW we'll get it with McCain--but as a Vietnam Vet who DID duck bullets and bombs--I'm leary of ANYONE who lies about being "shot at or bombed" JUST TO GET A POLITICAL EDGE! (even at "3:00" in the morning--maybe she shouldn't answer the phone). If Obama can be held "accountable" for what his "former minister said"; why shouldn't Hillary be held accountable for what she "FALSELY" wrote and talked about--JUST TO SOUND TOUGH?! War is no joking or lying matter, and if she doesn't know the difference between a bullet and a "hand shake" or an aplauding crowd and a bomb--then she has no judgement nor truth with her. Or maybe she got that "experience from her husband also" ("That depends on what you mean by bombs and bullets"?).
If NOT Rev. Wright; If not "Louis Farrakhan's endorsement"; If not trying to "falsely" attack him as a "Muslim" (the first 7 months of the campaign); If not the word "bitter"--which I and ALL Americans should be having been lied to for the past 7 1/2 years and paying the price I've listed above--AND every time I have to pay $4.00 a gallon to ensure over $100 BILLION per year profits for the oil industry, for each of the past 7 years--THEN many "sound bite" Americans would have checked out Obama's library card when he was in grade school or accused him of "listening to Malcolm X speeches or albums when he was in high school--even if he had Jesus Christ as a running mate--he would and always will be condemned and voted against by many Americans behind the "false pretense" of a "speech or a word" or some made up reason. DO YOU EVEN KNOW AN "ISSUE" WHEN YOU HEAR OR READ ONE?!
So NO! I don't think Rev. Wright "cost Obama" any votes. I think the American people need to grow up and learn what real issues are at state. Or they can remain "emotionally attached to ignorance" and suffer another 4-8 years. Of course, considering the "mess" we've "voted" ourselves into the past 8 years--Obama with Jesus as V.P. can't resolve in 4 years.

Obama has to stop talking about "old Washington politics" when he has proved time and again that he is a politician just like any other politician who will say and do anything to get elected. The perfect example is the way he treated his own pastor of 20 years, Rev. Wright. In his famous "race speech", not too long ago, he said that he cannot disown Rev. Wright anymore than he can disown the black community or his white grandmother, but when Rev. Wright, during his self-defense, recently, mentioned that Obama is a politician and does what a politician does, he became livid and immediately severed his relationship with Rev. Wright to appease the superdelegates who have been pressuring him to denounce his pastor more strongly. It's funny the way Obama attacks Hillary mercilessly and relentlessly and then cries uncle when Hillary attacks him! And he wants us to believe that he is not a politician?

Obama is caught in a lie again!

More Hypocrisy: Obama Supported Gas-Tax Holidays in Illinois, is Mad at Other Candidates for Doing it Now

Sen. Barack Obama is chastising Hillary Clinton and John McCain for supporting a gas-tax holiday. McCain’s proposal is a straight lifting of the tax. Hillary’s proposal would include a windfall-profits tax on oil companies, meaning that oil companies would in theory pay for the gas-tax holiday. Of course, oil companies could just raise prices to offset the tax, which would make it a wash for consumers.

Still, Obama’s criticisms are a tad hypocritical, given his own support for a gas-tax holiday back when he was an Illinois legislator. CBS News reports:

"Obama took a different view on the issue when he was an Illinois legislator, voting at least three times in favor of temporarily lifting the state’s 5 percent sales tax on gasoline.

"The tax holiday was finally approved during a special session in June of 2000, when Illinois motorists were furious that gas prices had just topped $2 a gallon in Chicago.

"During one debate, he joked that he wanted signs on gas pumps in his district to say, ‘Senator Obama reduced your gasoline prices.‘” (CBS)

Heh, here's the summary of the ad: Hillary wants to give you help, Obama doesn't, b/c he doesn't want to pander to you by promising you something. ...oh, and, by the way, Obama promises you a tax cut.
