Not where you thought you were? Hotline offers voter help

Redistricting could catch some voters by surprise, when they find different candidates on their ballot than they were expecting.

Wake, Johnston, Franklin, Nash, Lee, Granville are among the counties ranked highest in a “voter confusion index” analysis by the watchdog group Democracy N.C. Durham is included as having some of the most complex changes.

A voter information hotline has been set up for Election Day, and can be reached at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683), or in Spanish 888-839-8682.

It’s hosted by a public service program at UNC-CH law school, Democracy N.C. and the national Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Also, a website by Democracy N.C. provides a good overview of the election: www.NCElectionConnection.com.
