Under the Dome

Nesbitt hires former N&Oer

Former News & Observer reporter Leah Friedman is Senate Minority Leader Martin Nesbitt's new communications director.

Friedman, who replaces Jeff Giertz, starts work for the Asheville Democrat on Jan. 3. She'll make $40,000 a year.

"I'm pretty excited," she said.

Friedman worked at the N&O for six years. Her last assignment was as the Triangle Troubleshooter.

Friedman joins a host of former reporters who have jumped to political communications in the last few years.

Working to counter nearly everything Friedman says on Nesbitt's behalf is former N&O writer Ray Martin, Senate leader Phil Berger's press secretary.

Former N&O writer Ben Niolet is working for Gov. Bev Perdue, as is former Charlotte Observer writer Mark Johnson.

Nesbitt certainly NEEDS a communications director!!!

He NOR his 'staff' have ever answered my emails of questions for him to answer.

Nesbitt blew into Rawleigh on mama's coattails in about 1973 when he 'took her seat'as a green loiwyer, and she passed.  He's been there ever since raising taxes and overspending like hell.   He is nothing but a bloated toad who definitely DOES need someone to run interference for him like some of Bev's peons do...these people are EVIL.

So, what's new with this?

Why do I get the feeling that many of the reporters are already working for candidates or the party?  Seems like some of the reporters are engaged in partisan politics with each article they write.  Or is it just me?

I stand corrected.....

I stand corrected.  Do you happen to have the updated totals of how many have taken jobs with either sides of the aisle.

Go read the penultimate paragraph

Read the penultimate paragraph.  It might prevent you from making such patently false statements in the future if you bother to read the whole post before responding.

A Coincidence ??

I'm sure it is just a coincidence that no former N&Oers ever go to work for Repub politicians ???
