N.C. Dems use GOP ad to raise money

North Carolina Republicans aren't the only ones hoping to raise money off the GOP's new ad linking Democratic gubernatorial candidates Richard Moore and Beverly Perdue to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Jerry Meek, chairman of the N.C. Democratic Party, has sent out a letter to North Carolina Democrats saying the ad shows "just how out of touch North Carolina Republicans truly are."

"This much is clear: North Carolina Republicans will say anything and do anything to win," Meek writes.

So, Meek tells Demcrats that they need to raise money to "prepare us for the challenges ahead." He asks them to send a contribution of $50, $25 or $15.

This is true in absolute dollar terms. However, our economy is also much larger than others in absolute dollar terms. If you look at development aid as a percent of Gross National Income, you'll see that we give far less than other countries. The US ranks 21 out of 22 OECD countries along this measure: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/40/3/35389786.pdf

You'll see that the US gave 0.16% of its GNI, compared to an OECD-average of 0.42%.

Also, can you please provide examples of the African and South American countries to which we have provided democracy and freedom?

Finally, can you please study the difference between "your" and "you're" before responding?

Oh thats right. Your out of touch when you state the facts, but your right on line when you believe my empty promises and lies. Dang, what was I thinking. And how dare those Republicans from actually making an ad that shows the facts and how Obama's Spiritual Advisor of 20 years thinks of this horrible country we call the United States of America. The country that has provided democracy and freedom to millions of people not only in our borders but in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and South America. Took care of Communism and Nazism around the world. By far gives more aid than any other country in the world to developing nations and third world nations. and on and on I could go. But geez, we are just horrible. "End Sarcasm"
