N.C. debate sounding debatable

Debates don't work as a solo act.

That's why reports this week of a N.C. Democratic presidential debate quickly fell flat when it became clear that Sen. Hillary Clinton had not signed on.

On top of those mixed signals, N.C. First Lady Mary Easley is trying to get a piece of the debate action for her employer, according to campaign officials. She is involved in an effort to get the debate held at N.C. State University, where she teaches law-related courses, Mark Johnson reports.

A Raleigh TV station's Web site reported the debate as a done deal Thursday evening with details, such as the date (April 19), the host (CBS) and moderators (CBS' Katie Couric and Bob Schieffer.)

The story noted, though, that while Obama's team had agreed, Clinton's had not.

"The date presented a logistical problem because it was right before the Pennsylvania primary (on April 22)," sad Kerra Bolton, spokeswoman for the N.C. Democratic Party. "You often have (a situation) where one candidate agrees to one debate and another candidate agrees to another debate and they have to work out the details. That's what you see here."

nah, just enlightened and smarter than a democrat, thats all...Oh yeah, and I take blood thinner, so bursting blood vessel liability is greatly reduced. thanks for your concern, are you a government employee?

FCC, I don't mean this in a terrible way, but sometimes I think you're just bonkers. And, as I've pointed out before, I'm concerned that you're going to bust a blood vessel at your keyboard.

Take it easy now.

Re: N.C. debate sounding debatable

It certainly seems that having the debate scheduled before the Penn. primary shows that Sen. Obama has effectively conceded Penn., a state that is a MUST WIN for a Democrat in the general election, and is hoping to use NC as a counter-balance to Sen. Clinton winning Penn. He can also spin that Sen. Clinton doesn't "care" about NC by forcing her to not agree to such an early debate date.

It's certainly valid campaign strategy, but it's a short-term strategy that does not consider the longer view of the general election. There's no reason a NC debate can't be scheduled a day or two after the Penn. primary. It would be fair to everyone.

Unfortunately for Obakarama, his preacher has done ruined all chances for him to advance further.

Have you all witnessed the hateful, RACIST rhetoric this 'christian' is spewing FROM THE PULPIT???

Obomba has been attending this church for 20 years and was married by this maniac. This was Obomba's religious mentor who led him away from Islam.
