Mystery (Garrett) Perdue visit

Garrett Perdue, lobbyist and son of Gov. Beverly Perdue, won't say why he was at the legislature two weeks ago.

The younger Perdue was hired as a lobbyist for Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice, the state's largest law firm, in February, one month after his mother was sworn in as governor. He previously worked there as an associate.

A Womble Carlyle spokesman at the time emphasized that Garrett Perdue would not deal with state government.

"He won't be doing any lobbying in Raleigh," Womble Carlyle spokesman Russell Thomas said then.

So why was he spotted at the legislature? Perdue did not return emails or voicemails left on his office and cell phones, all asking about his visit.

Thomas declined to comment Thursday.

Re: Mystery (Garrett) Perdue visit

Given that Womble Carlyle also employs dozens of creepy democrackkks, including the vile Jim Hunt, there is NO telling what his legislative mission would have been but you can bet if its a secret, it involves some kind of corruption...

Re: Mystery (Garrett) Perdue visit

I have it on good faith that Garret is running messages back and forth from the McKimmon Center...[where Mary Easley works......God, I hope she works...I'm paying her a good salary (taxpayer)so she can keep Mike in NASCAR seats....and the legislature]..... This is how the state will handle email traffic from now on.....much more compatible with the sunshine laws, and the lad can be interviewed by the last reporter from the N&O who can still run along side a moving car....

Please, my friends...let's enjoy this fantasy....do you care to add to it?

What sort of "change" did you expect anyway?

Re: Mystery (Garrett) Perdue visit

sarcasm swith on...Bar all federally registered lobbyists from entering the publicly-accessible Legislative Building. They can not perform research in the Legislative Library, look at past Journals, or other publicly available materials whether looking into federally-related matters of not without first consulting with Mark Johnson, currently of The N&O...sarcasam switch off.

Re: Mystery (Garrett) Perdue visit

sarcasm switch on.........I feel certain that there is no reason to be alarmed by the undertones of this visit........sarcasm switch off

Doing his job...

...Lobbying.
