Moore seems Burr-ly interested

There will be no Richard v. Richard in 2010, at least for now, the Associated Press reports.

Former State Treasurer Richard Moore said he has no plans, for now, to run in 2010 for the U.S. Senate seat held by Republican Richard Burr.

Moore, a Democrat who left office less than two months ago, unsuccessfully ran for his party's nomination for governor last year.

"I am taking it easy," Moore said after a speech at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, where he received a bachelor's degree and went to law school. "I'm doing what I want to do."

Asked about a bid for the U.S. Senate, Moore replied that one election cycle just ended.

"You never say never," he said, "but I don't have any plans right now."
