N.C. Democratic chairman Jerry Meek, who plans to marry a Charlotte legislator this year, will join a law firm Monday that has offices in Charlotte and Raleigh.
Meek will join Poyner & Spruill, one of North Carolina's oldest and largest firms. He now works for a Fayetteville law firm, Jim Morrill reports.
The move gives Meek a professional foothold in Charlotte, where he'll marry Democratic state Rep. Tricia Cotham in December.
"This was a good time to sort of transition," Meek said this afternoon. "I know I'm going to get married to someone who's going to be spending a lot of time in Charlotte and some time in Raleigh."
Meek's term as chairman ends in January. He expects to move to Charlotte then.
The December wedding date fits conveniently between the November election and the start of the new General Assembly in January.

Re: Meek joining Charlotte law firm
hmm, thought he was his own partner at his own firm in Fayettenam...guess the grass is a little greener in Charlotte, but frankly there's just too many loiwyers lurking everywhere, and why are so MANY of them stupid democrackkks? (Oh yeah, they defend the oppressive system...)
