U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre will co-chair the Air Force Caucus, a bipartisan group that works to address health care access, deployments and national security needs as they concern the Air Force.
McIntyre's district includes Cumberland County, home of Pope Army Air Air Field. The state also is home to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Wayne County.
McIntyre, a Democrat from Lumberton, will co-chair the caucus with U.S. Reps. Sam Johnson, R-Texas, and Mike Turner, R-Ohio.
In a statement, McIntyre said: "The men and women of the U.S. Air Force play a pivotal role in the defense of our nation. Ensuring they have the resources and tools to help them do their job is a top priority, and I am honored to serve as Co-Chairman of the Air Force Caucus. Working in a bipartisan way, we will do all we can to support their important mission.”
