A TV ad from U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry calls attacks by Republican rival Lance Sigmon "despicable."
No - Sigmon's platform is a conservative, Christian based view of the issues. Unfortunately, until Mr. McHenry made some mistakes of his own and was "called out" by Sigmon, the press paid no attention to Sigmon.
I know nothing of the sour grapes - but I know a decent man when I see one. I don't see that in McHenry - there are just too many questionable issues surrounding him. I think that the District is just trying to correct a mistake from 2004.
With the sudden REemergence of the RON PAUL rEVOLution, McHenry would be smart to return to the RP camp! Just when we thought all was lost, McCain makes an utter fool of himself in NC last week, and then RON PAUL took all the Nevada GOP delegates!!! Oh, you havent heard that on the news? No, there's no media bias!

"The Revolution: A Manifesto"
McHenry doesn't seem to think he's a joke. He went so far as to mention his opponent by name in the ad.
So now the question is, will Daniel Johnson get an easier race against the scandal prone McHenry, or will the 10th District get a more ethical Republican candidate? (I don't know anything aboug Sigmon, I just assume that 99% of the human race is more ethical than McHenry.)
You can't be serious. Sigmon is a joke. His platform is all anti-mchenry rhetoric. He's just part of the David Huffman supporters who are STILL upset they lost in the 2004 primary. This whole race is nothing more than sour grapes.
Sigmon is a McCain supporter. McHenry informally endorsed Ron Paul at a meeting in Gaston County last winter. I also recently read that in January or February, McHenry told a group of people that conservatives should be physically ill at the thought of a McCain presidency. Apparently, however, he later endorsed McCain. So - don't know what to believe with him!!
Sigmon seems pretty straight-up. Not as "smooth" as McHenry, but seems to be doing this out of true concern for our District instead of just to be a politician.
What do we know about Sigmon? Which one favors Ron Paul?
A psychiatrist could have a field day with McHenry's projection problem.
Re: McHenry's 'Despicable' ad
Daniel Johnson, looking better all the time, also has a primary on May 6. With the high turnout from the presidential race, might the total votes cast in the Dem primary for the 10th District outnumber the total votes cast in the McHenry-Sigmon contest? Wouldn't that be something?
