McCrory for what?

All this time, we thought Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory was running for governor. Turns out, according to his first news release, he's running for "governer."

Update: Victoria Smith, McCrory's  campaign manager, just told Dome that they believe someone hacked into their system and inserted the misspelled word in the news release sent by e-mail to reporters.

"There's no way that this was misspelled," Smith said. "I'm going to have to look into this."

Smith said the masthead is one the campaign has used one time, but it's not something they have repeatedly used.

Pat McCrory for Governer

At last we agree on something!

Well said.

Re: McCrory for what?

Like I said, maybe Pat shoulda hired those high-priced consultants.

A gaffe is a gaffe, one day story. Claiming that hackers are out to get you, now that's a meme.

And wouldn't a hacker do something more hack-ish -- like steal your list of contributors or their VISA card numbers or something? Wacky.

JAT

way to go McRory

No way that anyone "hacked" into their system. That's too rich.

McRoary, the educaton candidate.

Re: McCrory for what?

First of all, if this was really the fault of the McCrory campaign, it is very disheartening to see them shirking responsibility...on day 1.

Secondly, even if someone managed to hack into their system and replace the graphic (as opposed to editing text). Someone in the McCrory camp still didn't look over it before they sent it out.

Oh, and btw...didn't Perdue make this same rookie spelling mistake a few months back?

I really hope the debate Thursday has a spelling bee built into it.

Re: McCrory for what?

Really...hacked into their system? So far, so not impressive.

Re: McCrory for what?

Yeah, right. Why would someone hack in just to do that. And it seems like such an easy mistake to make by someone.
