Under the Dome

Majority in NC support ban on assault weapons poll says

Even in gun-loving North Carolina, there is support some forms of gun control, according to a new poll.

A majority of Tar Heels(51 percent) said they would support banning assault weapons, while 41 percent said they would oppose such a ban, according to a new survey by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-leaning firm based in Raleigh.

Fifty-four percent said they support Congress passing stricter gun laws, while 40 percent opposed any such move.

But more people (45 percent) had a favorable view of the National Rifle Association than had an unfavorable view(42 percent.)

Asked whether how an NRA endorsement would effect how they might vote for a candidate, 27 percent said it would make them more likely, 42 percent less likely, and 29 percent said it would make no difference.

The survey of 600 likely North Carolina voters was conducted Feb. 7-10 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

@Gunshy

You really are the epitome of ignorance...

Wrong

Ask yourself why no link(s) were provided in this article. Could it be because this article is an outright lie and thus have no sources to verify these claims? Yes. There has been no such study and if there had been one, it would have shown quite the opposite.

Now ask yourself why sheriffs around the state (and country) are publicly refusing to adopt these policies. Could it be because they're closer to the citizens than anyone and therefor better reflect their interests? Yes.

This is the worst piece of "journalism" I've seen since Ellen Seidler. NC is strongly against more gun control and THAT is a well publicized fact, so much so that even the would-be bandwagoner Kay Hagen won't push them. Get your facts (if you have any to support this BS infested article) together.

a simple rule

If you want a gun, you're crazy, and can't have one.
