Jones raised $5k with Paul e-mail

Walter JonesRon Paul's e-mail for U.S. Rep. Walter Jones worked.

According to an article by Congressional Quarterly, the Farmville Republican did pretty well by renting access to the Republican presidential candidate's list of North Carolina donors.

Paul also sent an e-mail last week soliciting help for Jones, CQ reports:

Jones said he already has raised about $5,000 from Paul supporters, which is not an insubstantial figure in a relatively inexpensive market. Jones had raised $192,185 through the end of December, and his rival for the GOP nomination, Joe McLaughlin, had collected $78,278.

Both Paul and Jones oppose the Iraq war.

Re: Jones raised $5k with Paul e-mail

Does Jones share Ron Paul's belief that the UN is trying to conquer the United States?

Does Jones think we should adopt the gold standard?

Does Jones think that there is a secret "NAFTA Superhighway" in the works?

Does Jones share Ron Paul's belief that black people are inherently inferior to white people?

Does Jones share Ron Paul's belief that we should quarantine people with AIDS?

Does Jones share Paul's sympathy for the "militia movement" (aka the people responsible for Oklahoma City bombing)?

Does Jones believe in the existence of the Bilderberg Group and the Trilateral Commission?

Does Jones believe that Waco was a conspiracy to kill ATF agents who had previously worked for President Clinton as bodyguards?

Your manliness intrigues me! Explain to me further how Republicans are the "real warriors." That sounds exciting. Where do I sign up?

I hope I can be a "real warrior" like you! And these guys, too: . What a bunch of manly warriors!

These guys look particularly manly and warrior-ish, as well:

Re: Jones raised $5k with Paul e-mail

Only $5,000 from Paul that's about all! Jones knows that it's not money in this campaign, it's about Republican votes in a Republican Congressional District. The 3rd District where Vets, Retired Military and the stealth voting guys and gals on Active Duty vote is the issue. Money, slick or dubious campaign advertizing and political fluff will never, never buy off the real warriors, real Republicans. Move-on.Org is not favored very highly in the land of the military down in Eastern North Carolina. But, Joe McLaughlin still could use a buck or two so what say we drop it in the pot today!! Go to: joeforcongress.com, sure beats MoveOn.org!!!!!

Re: Walter Jones raised $5k?

There is no way the Jones campaign is happy with 5k from a list of people they knew gave money to another like minded candidate. Jones got 5 grand in one stroke of the pen from moveon.org connected votevets.org (a liberal anti-war group) and they have even run ads for him at their expense.

5k doesn't pay Jones' yearly tab at the Capital Hill Club and doesn't even cover 6 months of his almost $900 a month car payment. Yeah, I'm sure all those Ron Paul supporters would love to know that their donations are being used for bar tabs and a curiously overpriced Buick. (www.fec.gov)

That giant sucking sound you hear is a once untouchable Congressman's career going down the drain and all because he sees the "boogie man" behind every door. Can't wait to see those bar tabs after the votes are counted.
