Joe vs. Joe

Conservatives are turning Joe the Plumber on Speaker Joe Hackney and the House Democrats.

Joe Wurzelbacher, the Ohio plumber who became an anti-tax symbol during last year’s presidential campaign, will speak at a "Tea Party" rally on June 3, Rob Christensen reports.

The rally is being sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, a Raleigh-based conservative group, at 4:30 on Halifax Mall in the state government complex.

Organizers say the purpose of the rally is to convince members of the state House not to raise taxes as part of the budget plan it is now putting together.

Wurzelbacher gained fame last fall, when he asked Barack Obama about how the Democratic presidential candidate’s tax policies might affect his efforts to start his own plumbing business.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain made Wurzelbacher one of his main talking points in the closing points of the campaign.

Wurzelbacher is now working as a commentator and motivational speaker has has spoken at anti-tax tea parties in Washington, D.C., and in Michigan.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

profbam and the left is represented by those anti 1st Amendment thugs at UNC-Chapel Hill, that ex SNL comedian Gralafalo or something, and the writers on the Huffington post and Democratic underground blogs that were hoping that W's mother die during he heart valve surgery. Oh and I need to add the African-American lady at the raleigh tea party that was driving by calling us rednecks (racist term used against whites) while I was standing next to two African-American tea party supporters.

I just presented you with examples of hate from the left. All you can do is offer generalities and racists stereotypes of whites. grow up.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

yeah, just like fruitcake thats been passed around for a "few" X-Mases.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

After reading some of these comments, It looks like we need a civil war to settle the differences, Hate , hate, hate

Re: Joe vs. Joe

"This is the face of the Republican party: white, male, divorced (usually multiply divorced as in Newt and Rush), ignorant and homophobic racists."

(Yawn..again) Joe, Sam or whatever he wants to call himself is an Independant with conservative values.

Sarah Palin is not male...Condi Rice is not white...Divorced? John Edwards and the 'super hero' Clinton's should be ...ignorant...homophobe...racist....blah...blah...blah. All liberal terms of endearment when they offer nothing of value.

The fact is the last Republican Admin. hired more minorities than all the prior Democratic administrations put together but they're not white guilters. We're in a war now because of the rabid Islamofacists who hate us and the majority of dems in Congress who voted for it.

So stick with his tax message. Whatever it might be..try something new...listening...'haters'. (such a worn out term) Now the dems want to borrow the country out of debt with their 'give away and make whitey pay' mentality. Great policy. We should just forget about paying China back anything.

BTW haters: I'm not a registered rep. either.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

The guy's an idiot, but hardly a fraud for going by his middle name. He never said he was a plumber, he said a plumbing business.

The personal attack is the leakage of state information to the tabloid media, not calling him an idiot, he is an idiot.

You shouldn't believe everything you hear on MSLSD...

Joe vs. Sam

His name is Sam. Not Joe.

In Right Wing World, the above statement is a "personal attack"? Wow.

Here in reality, that is fraud, plain and simple.
Declaring yourself a plumber without certification is also fraud.

It is sad that Sam is what passes for celebrity in the GOP. It does highlight their push to promote branding over substance. Which is why they are trying to rebrand "telling the truth" as "personal attacks."

If Americans for minority rule have ideas, and not just soundbites like "don't raise taxes", we're more than willing to listen. But call them on that and they just yell their script louder.

Rush and Joe the Plumber - the GOP is back!

Who says the GOP is dead? Between Rush and Joe the Plumber, we can all be awed by the intellectual horsepower they bring to bear on any issue. What a bunch of idiots.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Amen to that. Republicans live in this fantasy world of their own construction where somehow lower taxes magically erase budget deficits without any sacrifices required from anybody. If you want services, roads, schools, parks etc., then you have to pay for them. Taxes are how that happens.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

"How is calling out someone on his bigotry—especially someone who is so actively seeking the public eye—a "personal attack"?

Any bigotry/ignorant/racist...blah...blah...blah terms etc. (yawn) are initiated from the left as personal attacks. The guy has issues with taxes as we all should.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Chance,

Don't mistake being amused for being riled.

Somehow, I don't think the laughter the fake plumber provokes lends credibility to him or whatever his message might be. (He had a message?)

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Yeah, Joe's tired but the way he raises the blood pressure of libby's you'd think he was actually saying something important.

Your reviling lends credibility to his message even though he may not deserve it.

He should've said that he wouldn't let liberals near his kids, they may brainwash them.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

It is high time these legislators be revealed for the idiots they are - taking away the lives of state citizens and going merrily on their way spending like the doodoo birds they are without a brain.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

It just ain't right to have these two Joes conjured up in the same sentence. The guy from Ohio is a fraud, and a not particularly bright one at that. The real "Joe," our Speaker, is a genuine public servant of unique and admirable intelligence and ability.

Shame on you, RTB, shame, shame shame on you for trying to jazz up the Dome by juxtaposing these two utterly dissimilar public figures.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Whatever, Taxpayer2008 (now that's an original name). How is calling out someone on his bigotry—especially someone who is so actively seeking the public eye—a "personal attack"? Your post has all the trendy fodder that conservatives like to trough, but you really need to revisit your logic.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Joe the Plumber is the gift that keeps on giving.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

This is the face of the Republican party: white, male, divorced (usually multiply divorced as in Newt and Rush), ignorant and homophobic racists. Not gonna win many elections that population base. The Americans for Prosperity say they do not want any taxes increased to help balance the NC constitutionally mandated balanced budget. Fine. Gives us the list of cuts they want that will do the job. Put up or shut up!

Re: Joe vs. Joe

So Ohio Newton starts with the name calling. At least Joe acknowledges he has 'queer' friends. Ohio Newton must be some sort of 'homophobe' with no real value to any discussion other than personal attacks...typical far out leftist, like the Tancredo protesters.

Heck, I wouldn't let my 'straight' friends near my children eiither.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Do you mean Not Joe, the Not Plumber? The same guy who said he won't let his "queer" friends near his children? Look, I'm from Ohio, and I'm really embarrassed this guy is from my state. His 15 minutes were up a looooong time ago.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

check that 5th paragraph, RTB.

Re: Joe vs. Joe

Didn't he quit this schtick a couple weeks ago?

"Samuel Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, tells TIME he's so outraged by GOP overspending, he's quitting the party.

Or is he just rebranding as an "Independent" ...you know, like O'Reilly?
