Mark Murray of MSNBC wonders if North Carolina's presidential primary is really competitive.
Seriously, the two Dem gubernatorial candidates in North Carolina are fighting over who supports Obama more. In fact, one candidate (Richard Moore) is using paid advertising to tout his Obama support. Maybe we should stop pretending North Carolina is going to be competitive; it's not.
That doesn't take into account the fact that Moore — and Democratic gubernatorial rival Beverly Perdue — have so far only advertised their endorsement of Obama to black voters, or the fact that both candidates had strategic reasons to endorse.
For Moore, it was a potential opening against the frontrunner. For Perdue, it was a way to cut off any attempts by Moore to draw a distinction.
