Dan Forest, the GOP candidate for lieutenant governor, has picked up the endorsement of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Huckabee, a former presidential candidate, said he was backing Forest because “he believes in the sanctity of life, limited government, the Second Amendment, states rights, rule of law and self sufficiency.''
Forest also announced he has the backing of Congressmen Renee Ellmers, Virginia Foxx, Walter Jones, Patrick McHenry, and his mother, Sue Myrick.
Forest, a Wake Forest architect, faces Tony Gurley, a Wake County commissioner and a pharmacist in next Tuesday's GOP prrimary.
