How you should call Pat McCrory

Alliance for N.C. adThe Alliance for North Carolina wants you to call Pat McCrory.

An ad by the 527 group ends by urging viewers to call the Republican gubernatorial nominee and tell him what they think about his positions on the minimum wage and community college tuition.

It's a standard rhetorical device in 527 ads, which are not technically supposed to be advocating for or against a candidate.

The phone number listed — 704-336-2241 — reaches the city of Charlotte administration office.

Pam Smith, a budget employee who was answering the phone during lunch, said that they have received "a couple calls" so far this morning.

"We're referring them to the mayor's campaign," she said.

In case you're wondering, that number is 704-714-4344.

I am going to call him and tell him I can't wait for him to get to Raleigh and clean up this disgraceful state government.
