A health care road trip

The Hands off My Health Care rally is taking its show on the road.

The tour, organized by the conservative advocacy group Americans for Prosperity, is designed to get people active in calling for less government involvement in health care. The bus tour will make more than 30 stops across the state over the next week.

“Americans are fired up about health care, and the bus tour gives more people the opportunity to come out and get involved,” said Dallas Woodhouse, State Director of Americans for Prosperity, in a press release. “They’ve heard enough proposals from Washington that give government all the decision-making power."

The rally is also designed to get people to sign a "Patients First" petition, which the group will send to congressmen.

See the schedule after the jump.

Re: A health care road trip

river,

After your national healthcare takes care of the drug companies and their high profits........would you please then address the issue of illegal drug trafficking. Seems to me the government hasn't done too much to curb that either. Not too many places that illegal drugs are not available.

And tackling illegal drugs might even bring some savings to our national healtcare program.

Thanks for taking care of both of these for us.

P.S. Please look into root canals. I know a guy who does those and he may be making too much money too. Also look into those personal injury lawyers. Thanks.

Re: A health care road trip

Comrade Riverrd:

I am with you. We should nationalize the drug companies and return their profits to the state. And the doctors should work for the state. What is good for the state is good for the worker. Onward my brother to unity. Nothing should go to the highest bidder. Everything should cost the same and the state should provide the same to each worker. No more bidding. Let the state set the prices. Take the price tag off our goods and let us all pay the same. Thanks be to our leader. Glory to our leader.

P.S. I got some blackmarket peaches if you are interested. The state store has not had any in months. Will trade for some size 10 shoes or a gallon of petrol.

Re: A health care circus of fools.

Since the day Medical Insurance Companies formed, their Board Room Pirates prospered on the sickness and death of those unfortunate people that hoped paying their outrageous premiums would protect them from personal disaster. Then the drug companies devolved from developing products that relieved the suffering of people to becoming no better that a 'Back Alley Drug Pusher' that will sell anything to anybody for as much as possible. Yes, these ARE "Merchants of Death" that now suck the life out of YOUR fellow citizens and buy their 'Protection' by flooding Capital Hill will Blood Money to their congressional puppets and buy hours of media time to sell their 'Snake Oil' to an uninformed and scared public. Yes, our America CAN produce medical care and safe, effective drugs WITHOUT the profit motive! The people are more important than those Board Room Pirates. Health Care is a Right, not a commodity that goes to the highest bidder!

Re: A health care road trip

I think the appropriate word that riverd was looking for was "Villians" per Nancy Pelosi!

Re: A health care road trip

Not quite following riverd on the Merchant of Death talk?

Health insurance companies are in business to make a profit. You can even buy stock in these companies.

If the drug companies don't develop the drugs I have a feeling a lot of people would die or have reduced quality of life.

The Democrats need to understand that somewhere, someone must make a profit to set in motion the chain of events ending in the Democrats being able to increase taxes.

In my opinion the profit motive makes the health care available in the US to be the best. Not too many researchers invest money and time for the "public good."

The Merchants of Death theory might be a little over the top.

Re: A health care road trip

riverdd could not tell the truth if it hit him upside the head.

How about you talk about ANOTHER CORRUPT DEMOCRAT, the dishonrable Mr. Mackey.

The Democrats are ruining NC and this nation. Or are they just acting "stupidly"?

Re: A heath care road trip full of lies!

Must be nice to have your vacation trip paid for by the insurance companies and the drug companies, also known as "The Merchants of Death"!

Re: A heath care road trip

Is Burr driving? I'll be staking out the Shoney’s at 603 S. Regional Road for a bus on the sidewalk.
