Hagan: Resume, references key for U.S. atty

Sen.-elect Kay Hagan says she's looking for experience and recommendations for a new U.S. attorney.

In an interview with Dome today, the Greensboro Democrat said that she is already receiving "a host of calls, recommendations and resumes" from people interested in appointments as federal prosecutor or a judgeship in North Carolina.

She said she'll make the decision based on experience and references.

"I think different people bring different strengths to that position," she said. "I want to work with people in North Carolina and talk to other people who are experts in the area. I think references will play a big role in that."

She said that the process continues to be open and she has not made any decisions yet.

A spokeswoman for Hagan added that any decision on appointments will not be made until after the new attorney general is sworn in and senators chosen for the Senate Judiciary Committee, which oversees the appointment process.

Re: Hagan: Resume, references key for U.S. atty

She will "let you know when she gets up to DC," upon meeting with Harry Reid. They will ponder the people's personality, how liberal they are, how much money they contributed to her campaign and the DSCC, and what country club they belong too and FINALLY if they are able to sellout for the good of the DNC...?

Again she will let us know...
