Hagan: Nothing to do with Dole ad

Kay Hagan's campaign said they have nothing to do with a radio ad.

Colleen Flanagan, a spokeswoman for the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, said that the campaign is not coordinating its efforts with a 527 group airing a statewide radio ad attacking U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole's record on gas issues, Barb Barrett reports.

“We have not been working with (Majority Action) on this ad or on messaging,” Flanagan said.

At a debate in Atlantic Beach, Dole had called on Hagan to disavow third-party ads in the fall race. The Dole campaign again chided her today for not taking a stand against them.

But Flanagan said Hagan doesn't plan to disavow legitimate ads that talk about records.

"If this is an ad pointing out the differences between Dole and Kay Hagan on energy issues — Kay's put out a plan for short-term solutions," Flanagan said.

Update: Dole spokesman Marty Ryall notes that she has proposed short-term solutions, such as releasing a third of the strategic petroleum reserves.

How long has Dole been in the Senate?

From all her campaign baloney, you'd think she arrived in DC last week. What has she been doing to help create a sustainable energy policy for the past five years? It's amazing what an election will do to get an incumbent off her butt.

And who the heck is this person pictured on her website?
