Hagan hosts coffee klatschs

U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan is inviting you over for coffee.

The Greensboro Democrat will open her Washington office on Wednesday for the first of a promised series of "Carolina Coffees" — an informal way for state residents to talk with her directly.

Hagan says she'll hold the coffee klatschs from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday when the Senate is in session.

"These informal meetings are important to me, as I keep my ear to the ground concerning things that are happening in North Carolina," she said in a statement.

Her office is located in Suite 521 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. Visitors should plan for extra time to go through building security.

Re: Hagan hosts coffee klatschs

Instead of holding coffees in DC why doesn't she answer her mail and respond to her constituents?

Wasn't this YOU 120 seconds earlier saying Virginia Foxx can't be expected to return all phone calls to constituents?

Does shame enter your mind as even an abstract concept?

Re: Hagan hosts coffee klatschs

If some of you would take time to read the article, I think it says that these coffees occur when Senate is in session. I think that it is her job to be in Washington during that time.

HAHAHA so funny....

reminds me of Edwards' Tarheel Tuesday - I went once and there were nothing but lobbyist and staffers there...a real portrayal of the true North Carolina

Re: Hagan hosts coffee klatschs

I don’t get it? She wants to open her doors to North Carolinians so they can tell her what is happening in NC. But the meetings are in her DC office?

How is the average constituent going to attend these meetings?

It didn't take long for her to become a DC resident.
