Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

Andy GriffithAndy Griffith has also recorded a robocall for Beverly Perdue.

The legendary TV actor has already done two television ads for the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in the primary and general elections.

He's also recorded a radio ad endorsing state Senate candidate Kay Carroll.

Re: Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

And I, as a one-time staunch Republican (until Bush, McCain, Palin, and McCrory) would like to say that Perdue has my vote; she certainly deserves it.
I'm afraid the combined IQ scores of the Bush, McCain, Palin, McCrory bunch would not make the double digits.
PS Whatever talk show you have regarding Perdue will never be as incriminating as McCrory on FoxLive (October 13) saying Palin is "hotter in person". How telling when Alec Baldwin used that same line on SNL a few weeks later as a parody of disgusting old men. Even the real Sarah Palin (is that an oxymoron?) rolled her eyes at that one!

Life long Democrat to vote for McCrory

Below is an unsolicited response to an email that I sent to clients across the state asking them to vote McCrory for governor:

"I have been a life long Democrat for many reasons and rarely vote Republican.

However, I do admire what Pat has accomplished in Charlotte and I will certainly be voting for him and will be urging my friends to do so.

As a committed Democrat, I believe my opinion in this case will matter more than it normally would, since it will be unusual.

I do hope he makes it. He certainly has my support."

Re: Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

Status Quo Bev Perdue was in WNC/Asheville yesterday. Once again, she was invited to come on the biggest WNC radio talk show for an hour...once again she, nor her campaign, even had the courtesy of responding to the upteenth invitation by WWNC 570 am radio host Matt Mittan whose show is huge, even across the state by Internet streaming! It is very telling that Bev is just TOO SCARED to face the people of WNC! WHY is she so SCARED of Matt Mittan? oh well, he had Mike Munger on yesterday and will have Pat McCrory today for an hour! they had a big time making fun of Bev yesterday and she's just too stupid to realize it!

YOU can log on to www.Takeastandshow.com today, and each weekday, at 3pm and listen to this great radio show, now popular across NC! Matt Mittan has done a great job exposing corruption in our democrat controlled state government! also: www.wwnc.com WNC's OLDEST radio station with BIG TALK !!!

Re: Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

Boy howdy, I sure do like Andy Griffith, and I'd hate to disappoint the guy, so I'm just not gonna tell him what I think of the governor's race.

Re: Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

Guess I, like most of us,, enjoyed the Andy Griffith show in the past, an imaginary town situation with light-hearted crime and few social issues....but, we don't live in Mayberry and we cannot afford to watch a re-run of current administration in Raleigh.
We need Pat Mccrory, offering the state a chance to have competent and experienced leadership. A proven leader who isn't afraid to face the good people of our state straight up and talk about the issues NC has, both in person and via media.
Hiding and avoiding opportunities to openly adress the issues heralds what we could expect from another Democrat in the office just as the closed door policy has existed with current administration.

Is Beverly running for Governor?

I am confused if Beverly is really running to lead this state. I know that some of her liberal brethren call her awkward and that she is scared to debate on a statewide basis, but I never hear her speak in her ads. As the Observer stated, does she even have an internal compass? Instead she depends on good old Andy to be her mouthpiece or she uses a voiceover to go negative on Mayor McCrory. She is not personally communicating what SHE is going to do.

This is probably a glimpse of the way that she would operate as governor. We would never see her or she would not be able to speak outside of prepared soundbites, i.e. often repeated "I will be tough on crime and smart on solutions". We don't need another Easley to help us solve the state's many problems.

Re: Griffith also robocalling for Perdue

I think the folks can make up their own mind without any help from Andy.
McCrory/08

New Bern paper accuses Bev of ties to....

"the often-criticized old-boy network and the fundraisers and lobbyists who frequent it..."

A city that knows her best accuses Beverly of being part of the status quo, which will make it a little difficult to be a new sheriff in town. Particularly since the the paper also states that she "ascended to leadership positions, aided by Marc Basnight, the powerful president pro tem." I would think that Marc will continue to control Beverly as she owes him.

Other interesting comments from their surprising endorsement of Beverly:
- North Carolinians will choose between two gubernatorial candidates with excellent qualifications. Each brings different strengths, a knowledge of and appreciation for the role of state government and solid ideas for how to address the many problems the state faces.
- If elected governor, she'd be wise to enlist McCrory's help, especially in reorganizing how North Carolina builds new roads. He would tie road planning to land-use and economic development planning, an idea whose time has come.

They might as well have endorsed McCrory! I bet that Beverly is thrilled about these comments.
